Two Wheels One Journey. Ladakh India

Riding is not just about the thrill of the journey, but the friendships forged along the way and the endurance tested through every challenge faced together – MIHIPEDIA

Our route map

We did it! After riding nearly 900 kilometers, our journey concludes back in the breathtaking landscapes of Leh. The sense of accomplishment is overwhelming; we are ecstatic and thrilled to have finished this ride. The tough terrain, unpredictable weather, and the immense physical endurance required have made us stronger and grateful for an epic experience.

We endured nosebleeds and ice baths, altitude sickness, relentless headaches, the notorious Delhi Belly, sunburns, and frozen fingers. We rode through rugged terrain comprising sand, rocks, snow, ice, hail, wind, and rain. Some fell off bikes but got up stronger. We dodged near misses with fellow riders and erratic drivers, filled ourselves with many bowls of Maggi noodles and momos, slept in tents, and braved countless hours of hard seats. We inhaled clouds of dust and dirt along the way. We also polished off eight bottles of Old Monk! But, every challenge only fueled our determination and adventure!

As we gather around a warm bonfire, organized by the amazing team at Ladakh Travel Hub, a sense of camaraderie and accomplishment fills the air. This is a celebration not just of the miles we have covered, but also of the friendships we have forged along the way.

The next morning, the serene beauty of Leh bids us farewell as we prepare to fly back to Delhi. The flight offers one last aerial view of the majestic mountains, a final glimpse of the adventure that has etched itself into our hearts.

Upon landing in Delhi, another celebration awaits us – it’s Graeme’s birthday. We gather at a charming restaurant, the air filled with excitement and the aroma of delicious food. Glasses are raised as we toast his milestone. It’s a fitting end to our incredible journey, blending the triumph of our ride with the joy of personal achievements. The dinner is a mix of hearty laughter, shared memories, and plans for future adventures.

As we leave Delhi for our flight back to Colombo, I reflect on the past days. This ride through the heart of the Himalayas has been one of the most incredible experiences of my life. The landscapes, the people, the challenges, and the triumphs have all combined to create memories that will last a lifetime.

Leh has not just been a destination; it has been a transformative journey. We return home with stories to tell, lessons learned, and a bond stronger than ever. Here’s to more adventures and the spirit of exploration that keeps us going!
